Digital Resouces Database and Atlas for Kerala State released

Sri. V. S. Achuthanandan, hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala, released the Digital Resource Database for Kerala and the Resource Atlas by handing over a copy to Dr.Prabhat Patnaik at function held on March 13, 2008 at Mascot hotel, Thiruvanantapuram. The digital database and atlas were prepared by the Centre for Earth Science Studies in collaboration with the Kerala State Remote Sensing and Environment Cente and the Regional Remote Sensing Centre, Bangalore. The poject was funded by ISRO. Dr. Madhavan Nair, Chairman ISRO, delivered the keynote address during the function. Dr. M. Baba, Director CESS introduced the Digital Database and Natural Resoures Atlas to the audience. Shri. P. K. Mohanty, Director, KSREC welcomed the gathering. Prof. Prabhat Patnaik, Vice Chairman, State Planning Board, Dr. K.Radhakrishnan, Director, VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram, Dr. E. P. Yesodharan, Executive Vice President, KSCSTE, Sri.Teeka Ram Meena Secretary, Planning and Economic Affairs, Govt. of Kerala and Dr.Samsuddin Scientist CESS also spoke on the occasion.
