DISTRICT-WISE AGROCLIMATIC ATLAS OF KERALA

 

District-wise Agroclimatic Atlas of Kerala, an outcome of a collaborative effort between CESS and CRIDA (ICAR), Hyderabad, is the first endeavour of its kind for Kerala, covering the entire gamut of agro climatic features, ranging from assured rainfall to initial and conditional probabilities of occurrence of rainfall. This Atlas is divided into two parts, the first part containing twenty maps and the second part containing twenty-eight line diagrams. Maps depict assured rainfall, potential evapotranspiration, actual evapo-transpiration, soil moisture, moisture adequacy index and length of growing period. Theline diagrams provide information on soil temperature at different depths, relative humidity in the morning and afternoon, sunshine hours and initial/conditional probabilities of 20 mm/100 mm rainfall atVellayani, Kayamkulam, Kottayam, Vellanikkara, Pattambi, Kozhikode and Kasaragod. The Atlas was released by Dr. Panjab Singh, Director General of ICAR and Secretary,Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DAE), Govt. of India at the VIII Biennial Workshop of the AICRP on Agrometeorology at RARS, College of Agricultural Campus, ANGRAU, Tirupathi.
