Preamble

The National Conference on Coastal Processes, Resources and Management is being organised by Centre for Earth Science Studies with the main objective of providing a common platform for scientists, researchers, environmentalists, engineers, managers and government officials to share knowledge, information and experience on coastal dynamics and resources, provide solutions for the coastal problems such as erosion, flooding, sea level rise, and address the prospects, modalities and framework of Integrated Coastal Zone Management for ensuring sustainable development of coastal zone and conservation of ecosystems The First Announcement of the Conference released in October 2009 evoked encouraging responses from various quarters and has led to the receipt of a good number of Extended Abstracts with many more in the pipeline. This Announcement is intended to update on the progress in organisation, provide glimpses of the technical programme and provide further details on travel and stay for the benefit of the delegates.
